What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Natural Stone and Concrete: Combining Elegance and Durability in Retail Design

October 11, 2024

In modern retail design, material selection plays a crucial role in shaping both the atmosphere and functionality of a space. Two materials that have become increasingly popular are natural stone and concrete. Each offers unique qualities that can significantly influence both the look and practicality of commercial spaces. While natural stone adds timeless elegance and sophistication, concrete provides a modern, industrial character and exceptional durability. By combining these two materials, you can create a harmonious blend of style and functionality, as demonstrated in several of our recent projects.

1. Floors: The Foundation for a Stylish Space

Natural stone floors, such as marble, travertine, or granite, elevate spaces with a luxurious and refined look. They are not only durable but also create a sense of prestige, ideal for high-end retail environments. One example is our project for Husky, where we designed a unique testing ramp for trekking and hiking shoes. We embedded natural pebbles into the concrete to create a rugged, uneven surface that allows customers to test shoes on a simulated rocky terrain.

On the other hand, concrete floors provide a raw, industrial look that is not only stylish but also extremely resilient. For the German retail chain KULT Olymp & Hades, we used concrete for checkout counters and seating areas near the fitting rooms, where it perfectly fits the store's industrial design and withstands heavy traffic.

2. Walls: The Artistic Canvas of Retail Spaces

Walls adorned with natural stone act as standout interior elements that instantly catch customers' attention. Stone adds depth, texture, and luxury to any space. In contrast, concrete walls bring a modern, minimalist aesthetic that is both practical and elegant. When paired with other materials, such as wood or metal, concrete walls can create dynamic design elements that enhance the quality of product displays.

3. Counters and Fixtures: Stylish and Functional Solutions

Counters made from natural stone, such as marble or granite, are not only beautiful but also incredibly durable. Their aesthetic value and longevity make them an ideal choice for high-traffic areas, where surfaces need to withstand daily use while maintaining a luxurious appearance.

Concrete counters, however, offer a robust and modern alternative. In KULT Olymp & Hades stores, we selected concrete for the checkout counters due to its durability and raw look, perfectly aligning with the store's industrial design concept.

4. Seating Areas and Outdoor Solutions: Merging Form and Function

Concrete is not limited to interior applications; it also works well in outdoor retail settings, where it ensures both functionality and aesthetic appeal. In our project for the Austrian retail chain Merkur AT, we designed telescopic glass enclosures for the outdoor seating areas of their cafés. The base of these enclosures was made from cast concrete to ensure weight and stability. Additionally, these bases were designed to double as planters, adding a natural touch to the industrial design.

In KULT Olymp & Hades stores, we also focused on seating near fitting rooms, using concrete for its durability and stylish industrial look, perfectly complementing the overall design of the store.

5. Combining for Maximum Impact

The combination of natural stone and concrete in one space allows for a balanced and visually striking interior. Stone brings softness and elegance, while concrete adds strength and a modern edge. This combination is ideal for retail spaces that aim to provide not only high-quality products but also an unforgettable shopping experience.

Whether it's a luxurious boutique, a stylish café, or an industrial showroom, these materials provide everything you need to create a unique and functional retail environment. Our projects for Husky, KULT Olymp & Hades, and Merkur AT showcase how natural stone and concrete together create the perfect foundation for a modern and durable interior that can withstand the demands of daily operation.

By combining elegance and strength, you can elevate your retail space to a new level with these two timeless materials.
